Adelaide Caroline Anglace

Adelaide Caroline Anglace, known to many as Carol, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 14, 1943, in the Bronx, NY, Carol grew up in Connecticut, spending her early years in Hamden and most of her life in Ansonia and Derby.Carol was the cherished daughter of Adelaide and Edgar Taylor. She was affectionately known by many nicknames: Addie, Carol, Mom, Naun, Nina, Sis, Sister, Queen, Nana, Gram, and Chief.Her greatest joy in life was her family! As the family matriarch, Carol was a foodie at heart, hosting Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings for her family and friends. She loved having a full house and welcomed everyone with open arms. Friends became part of the family, and she always said, "We are a tight group, and once you're in, you're in." Carol devoted all her time to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, making countless cherished memories.Carol was known for her unwavering love of football, cheering passionately for the Cowboys and Clemson. Her Sundays were often spent watching games, surrounded by family and friends, sharing her enthusiasm and love for the sport. Her love for animals and owls was evident throughout her life, as she was always surrounded by pets and collected owl memorabilia. She had a successful career in sales, where her charismatic personality and dedication earned her many accolades. Carol eventually retired from Curved Glass, where she left a memorable impact on her colleagues and clients.Carol is survived by her children, Kimberly, Vincent, and Mark (spouse Corinne) Anglace; her grandchildren, Deanna (spouse Joel) Balkcom, Emily Searle, Tyler Anglace, Haylee Anglace, Nicholas Anglace, and Chloe Anglace; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew Balkcom, Honey Balkcom, Jakob Searle, Jacqueline Searle, Raylon Searle, and Paisley Anglace. She is also survived by her brothers, Edgar, James, Clifford (spouse Deborah), and Michael (spouse Suzanne) Taylor, and her sister, Beatrice (spouse Richard) Shandro. Carol leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Brian (spouse Tammy) Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Tayna Taylor, Michael (spouse Kate) Taylor, Clifford (spouse Elizabeth) Taylor, and Isis Shandro.In lieu of services and burial, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Carol's memory to the Connecticut Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society."The greatest legacy one can leave behind is a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories."
