Anya Grace Adler

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Anya Grace Adler, passed away peacefully at The Village at East Farms in Waterbury, CT after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Born on May 31, 1949 to Mary (Noss) Adler and Harry W Adler, Anya was raised in Manhasset, NY with her three siblings. She attended the University of Rochester and Duke Law School, graduating in 1973 before chasing her dream to own and live on a ranch out west. This brought Anya to Idaho, where she served initially as Prosecutor for Adam’s County.  Anya then moved to northern Idaho, serving as a private practice attorney and court appointed mediator in Sandpoint, Idaho for 30 years.

Anya had many loves in her life, some simple, like chocolate, shopping at Costco, ABBA, golf, baseball, and Duke Basketball. She also had a deep love for animals, including her horse Shiloh, and a succession of beloved dogs including Booyah, Koontah, Bubba, Tasha, Zoey, and Kai.  Anya is survived by her loving daughter Rebekkah, her brother, Thomas Adler, nieces and nephews, and many cherished family friends. Anya was a tireless advocate for justice and the rule of law, and wielded a wicked sense of humor and keen mind which will be missed by all who knew her.

As was her way, Anya did not wish for a funeral, however contributions can be made in her memory to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the ACLU Foundation, or the ASPCA.
