Cynthia “Cindy”  (Andrews)  Balint

Cynthia “Cindy”  (Andrews)  Balint, 63, of Lebanon, CT  passed away suddenly on July 6, 2024 from lung cancer—that was unfortunately diagnosed too late and advanced at an alarming rate.

The beloved wife of Jack Balint since 2003, Cindy passed with her family and friends at her bedside.

Cindy was born August 29, 1960 in New Britain, to Andrew and Arlene Andrews, of East Hartford where she then grew up.  She was a graduate of East Catholic High School, and then matriculated at Manchester Community College while embarking on an important Business and Financial career.

Cindy spent the majority of her career at Advest, Inc. and Merrill Lynch, where she held various positions of increasing responsibility and Organizational significance, like Fail Control/ Buy In Specialist and Margin Department Specialist.  She later worked at Symmetry Partners and SS & C Technologies Holdings, Inc. as an Accounts/ Funds Processing Specialist and Financial Operations Specialist, as her Career experience and Business - Financial Education continued and progressed.

When Cindy wasn’t working, or working around the house, she became very talented in many fascinating areas.  She became quite excellent at cooking and baking—as her family and friends could attest—being her repeated recipients.  Cindy became quite a skillful specialist at locating true valuables at Estate and Tag Sales and the like;  to the extent that family and friends sought out her expertise for counsel and pointers.  Based on her specific interest and extensive research, Cindy became very knowledgeable about Native American History and Culture;  and this then became a life-long investigative pursuit.   And it was amazing to learn and see how Cindy could lure Baltimore orioles and hummingbirds to her backyard to feed and breed every year, among various other wildlife.  Besides her beloved Black Lab Kota, she owned and/ or fostered semi-feral cats, that came to her home and that she then domesticated and found forever-homes for.

Cindy will be most remembered—not only for the hard-working Business - Finance strategist/ tactician that she became  (kind of the classical Virgo we presumed)—and that kept her life, and our lives in order when requested—but she will easily also be most remembered for the interesting and fun person that she was!  She was very thoughtful, energetic, tenacious, and could be very single-minded if she felt the situation or issue warranted it.

Besides her husband Jack—Cindy is survived by—and will be dearly missed—by Jack’s Parents Joseph and Judy Balint of Gales Ferry, CT;  Jack’s brothers:  Joe, Jr. and John, and sister:  Theodoria;  and Jack’s many nieces and nephews—and especially by Cindy’s Mother Arlene Andrews of East Hartford;  Cindy’s brother Marc Andrews and his wife Michele of Durham, CT, and their sons  (Cindy’s nephews):  Jonathan Andrews of Medford, MA, and Eric Andrews of Melrose, MA;  and Cindy’s sister:  Laurie Andrews, and her husband Lawrence Mullett of Chester, VT;  and many cousins, and many, many friends—in particular:  Diane and Tim Fannon, and their son, T.J.

Cindy was predeceased by her Father Andrew Andrews of East Hartford.

A Celebration of Life Event will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society   https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialpage  or the American Indian College Fund  https://collegefund.org/students/scholarships/
