Deborah Ann Johannesen




Deborah Ann Johannesen 72, of Ansonia CT, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. Born November 16, 1951, to Thaddaeus and Lucia Roman in Bridgeport, CT. Debbie spent the majority of her childhood in Bridgeport and graduated from Central High school in 1969. Dedicated as one of Jehovah’s witnesses  she remained strong in her faith and over the years shared the message of the hope for the future at every opportunity. Married to Terje Johannesen in 1971, they divorced after 34 years together. Debbie was a loving mother and grandmother and found great joy in spending time with her family. She was an excellent baker, talented artist, storyteller, poet and loved to sing. Her kind heart and generosity were evident to all who knew her. 

She is survived by her children Gretal Cacavollia-Larson Of Rocky Hill, CT, Son Thaddaeus (Krysti) Johannesen of Wallingford, CT, Kent (Agnes) Johannesen of Oxford, CT, grandchildren Natalie Cacavollia, Carter and Autumn Johannesen, Emilia, Luke and Naomie Johannesen, Sister Rose Mary (John) Reut, Uncle Anthony (Jean) Paolello, Cousin Antoinette Paolello, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, ex-husband, Son in-laws Glenn Cacavollia and Greg Larson and niece Christine Fuscaldo.  

A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1 Platt Road Shelton, CT. Interment will be private.
