Jules Lemay 1926-2022

Jules Lemay, 95, of Torrington died peacefully on March 1, 2022.

Jules was born June 2, 1926 in Watertown Ct. son of the late Gedeon and Alpheda (Desaulniers) Lemay. Shortly after his birth Jules and family relocated to St. Boniface, Canada and resided there until his return to Watertown in 1945 with his bride to start a family of his own. Jules worked many jobs throughout his lifetime often 2-3 jobs at a time to support and provide his family. His most memorable jobs were as a long time General Manager at Hill Top Towers in Wtby. and later as a Barber at Norm's Barbershop in Cheshire till his retirement at 80. Jules' life long love for music was fulfilled as a Band Leader playing various instruments and singing at times like Ricky Ricarrdo because of his accent with the Jules Lemay Orchestra and later as organist for East Mountain Church of Christ in Wtby. He turned Music My Way after a conversion to Jesus Christ to Music God's Way. Jules was often mischievous with a wonderful sense of humor and would often regale his listeners with adventurous stories of a lifetime, at times he seemed to remember more details because they got longer as time went on. He touched many lives with his music and humor and will be missed by all. We hang on to the memories in our heart till we meet again.

Jules is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Diorio of Torrington, and sons Michel Lemay of Florida and Dennis Lemay of Wtby, 2 brothers Bernard and Richard Lemay, 4 sisters Doris, Denise, Juliette and Gabrielle Lemay all of Canada, including many grand children, great and great great grand children, nieces and nephews. Jules is predeceased by his son Rene Lemay, former wife Denise Lemay, wife Rosemary Lemay, brother Marcel Lemay and sisters Georgette and Jacqueline Lemay.

Arrangements: A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at East Mountain Church of Christ in Wtby.
