Kenneth J. Maynard 1981-2020

Updated: Sep 22, 2020

Kenneth “Kenny” Joseph Maynard, 39, passed away on September 12th, 2020. Kenneth was born on July 30th, 1981 to Joanne Rotella Yenkelun and the late Kenneth E. Maynard.

Kenny was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He never left a room without making someone laugh. His smile was so brilliant, it could brighten up even the darkest of days. He loved music and spent much of his youth following his favorite bands to various music festivals. He was learning to play guitar, and joked with his wife about starting a 2 person band with her and traveling the country playing dive bars together. He was a loyal and dedicated Grateful Dead fan. He loved to learn, constantly reading, watching documentaries, and studying spirituality. He was a skilled chess player, and was always up for a good game. He fiercely and proudly loved his sons, Alex and Geno. The pure joy that could be seen when the 3 of them were together was heartwarming. They spent endless trips and hours, exploring the woods, camping, and hiking. Whether they were wrestling with each other, cracking jokes, or just enjoying a good meal together, Kenny’s heart was full when he was with them. He had a long-lasting, special friendship and co-parenting relationship with their mother Vanessa. She was always a loyal and supportive presence in his life. Kenny was loved unconditionally by Vanessa, Alex, and Geno, and that meant the world to him. Kenny married his best friend and love of his life, Amy, on August 28th, 2017. They truly were soul mates, and anyone who met them could attest to the palpable feeling of love when around them. They spent their time together living, loving, and laughing.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Amy Moniello Maynard, sons, Alex and Geno D’Errico, their mother, Vanessa D’Errico, step-father and mother, Jeff Yenkelun and Joanne Rotella Yenkelun, sister Kimberly Hasan, niece Yasmeen, nephews, Ameer and Sameer, mother-in-law Elizabeth Trzcinski, sister-in-law Jenifer Moniello, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
