Myron "Mike" Allen Gallup Jr., of Hartford, CT, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, the 18th of December at the age of 62.
Mike was born on August 8th, 1959 in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Mike was the son of the late Edna Louise Gallup & Myron Allen Gallup Sr. He is survived by his six siblings, Barbara White, Rocky Gallup, Patricia Gallup, Brian Gallup, Karen Gallup and Joseph Gallup.
Although Mike did not have any children of his own, he leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews that at one point or another he had hand in help raising. Mike was also a caregiver to his mother prior to her passing away in 2016.
Mike attended Buckley High School and worked as a Butcher at several of the area grocery stores. When he was not working, he was assisting his mother with his 6 younger siblings.
Mike enjoyed going to the Stafford Motor Speedway. He would visit often before his health started to decline. He enjoyed cooking and watching television. He was also jokester. Mike took pleasure in sitting in the window and “people watch”. He was affectionately known as the neighborhood watch person. If it happened in the neighborhood, he knew about it.
He will be cremated and laid to rest aside his mother and father at Connecticut State Veteran Cemetery and some remains sprinkled at the Stafford Motor Speedway.
