Norma Elaine "Lainie" Waldvogel of Bantam, CT died on 6/24/2019 at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation, Canaan CT, following a short illness.
She was born in Manhattan, New York, on March 16th 1929 to Joseph and Agnes DaCosta. She was educated in Manhattan at St. Patricks Old Cathedral School, Julia Richmond High School, and City College of New York. While still raising her 3 children, she moved to Connecticut, where she worked first for Region 12 (Shepaug) schools, then as Fiscal Control Officer for the Town of Litchfield, CT, until her retirement in the early 1990's. She is survived by her daughters Karen Waldvogel and Gretchen Waldvogel, her son-in law Kevin Osinski, her brother Donald J. DaCosta, her grandchildren Matthew Waldvogel and Kathleen Waldvogel, her nephew Joseph DaCosta, and nieces Donna DaCosta and Hilary Crawford. She was pre-deceased by her son Fred Waldvogel in 2000. Her daughters wish to thank the staff of Geer Nursing and Rehab, VITAS Hospice, and Sharon Hospital, for the excellent care they provided.
