Robert Stanley Jackson
September 6, 1938- February 26, 2022
Bob was born on September 6, 1938, the oldest son of the late Ellen Conyers Jackson and Stanley Jackson. Raised in Colchester, he was a graduate of Bacon Academy and went on to work for Ironworkers Local 15 with many years at Millstone. Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly in Cherry Valley, NY where his parents had retired to their summer home. He also loved his house on Lake Hayward, where grilling was his specialty. This would be coupled with his fondness for Dewars (an acquired taste) or a Coors Light (ice ice cold). He was larger than life, with a fierce personality and a dazzling mischievous smile. He was a highly intelligent man (a member of Mensa) as he loved all things scientific.
Bob is survived by daughters Megan and Abigail Jackson and granddaughters Emma Lockwood and Olivia Jackson. Brothers John (and wife Joan) of East Lyme and Timothy of Waterford also survive him as do numerous cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his second wife, Winnifred Jackson in 2021.
To dad:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand
