In Loving Memory of Terry Wingate Machette

June 3, 1932 – June 20, 2025

Terry Wingate Machette passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2025, at the age of 93 from natural causes. A cherished member of the Rowayton community for 53 years, Terry was known for her warmth, kindness and sense of fun. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Tucker Machette, and her son, Marc T. Machette.

Terry is survived by her daughters, Piper M. Sleight and Jill M. Wooldridge; her seven grandchildren—Penn Meringolo, Tucker Wooldridge, Morgan Machette, Deven Machette, Sawyer Machette, Wyatt Machette, and Gabrielle Sleight and great-grandchildren Maverick Nealon, Piper Meringolo, and Louis Meringolo. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great joy in following the latest news of them on Instagram.  She loved her sweet dog & constant companion Cleo. 

Terry was vibrant and social throughout her life. She enjoyed chatting with dear friends at the beach, kept in touch with her longtime friends, and was devoted to both her AA  and church community. 

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rowayton United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in her memory.

Terry's warmth and wonderful sense of humor will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
