William F. Zack, age 83, of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on August 7th, 2024. He was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, and was the beloved son of Agnes and William Zack.
A devoted family man, Bill was married to his high school sweetheart, Carol Zack, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the proud father of three children, Kimberly, William ( Tracey), and Jennifer, and the adoring grandfather of three granddaughters, Kylie, Isabella, and Kristin, whom he called his “three sweeties.”
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bill built a successful career as an upholsterer, a craft he honed over many years. After serving his country with distinction as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, Bill returned home and eventually retired from Raymour and Flanagan.
Bill had a zest for life that was evident in the simple pleasures he enjoyed—whether it was savoring room temperature Pepsi, munching on Lay’s barbecue chips, or spending time tending to his garden, a pastime he loved dearly.
Bill also had a special place in his heart for his grand dogs, who brought him great joy and companionship in his later years.
A service to honor and celebrate Bill’s life will be held on September 26th 2024 at 10am at Holy Name of Jesus Church 1950 Barnum Ave Stratford, CT 06615. Burial immediately following at St. Michael Cemetery 2205 Stratford Ave Stratford, CT 06615.
Bill’s presence in our lives will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
