Abel Bedoya 1932-2019

Abel Bedoya, age 86, of West Hartford, CT passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at UMASS Memorial Hospital.


He graduated from Guadalupe Military High School in Lima, Peru. Abel was a devoted father, loving husband and passionate cyclist, participating in many races from Barranco to Matucana. He moved to Chaclacayo with his family, where he had many friends and built his Club. Abel worked at Banco Popular for more than 35 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter at Chosica Station #32. Abel later moved to United States with his wife to be closer to his Mother-in-law and his youngest daughter, Carolina. Abel was an assembler at EBM for 15 years, before retiring. He loved dancing, making jokes, telling stories, and fishing at the lake or ocean. Abel enjoyed having his family together, especially his great-grandchildren. He always wanted the family to be united in difficult and joyful times.


Abel is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, F. Isabel; his 5 children, Mary and her husband Roland, Tisha and her husband Jorge, Abel and his wife Irina, Chabela and her partner David, and Carolina and her husband Paul; his grandchildren, Abel Eduardo, Belca and her fiancé Nick, Miguel and his fiancé Evelyn, Jorge, Alessandra and her husband Peter, Alex, Karina and her boyfriend Luis, and Roland Andres; his great-grandchildren Jayce, Maximus, and Novalise; and his brothers David and Antolin.


A celebration of Abel’s life will be at 10:00am on Saturday August 31, 2019 at St, Mary’s Church, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108.

Se graduó de la Escuela Secundaria Militar Guadalupe en Lima, Perú. Abel era un padre devoto, un esposo amoroso y un apasionado del ciclismo, participando en muchas carreras de Barranco a Matucana. Se mudó a Chaclacayo con su familia, donde tuvo muchos amigos y armo su Club. Abel trabajó en el Banco Popular por más de 35 años. También fue Bombero voluntario en Chosica Estación #32. Más tarde se mudó a Estados Unidos con su esposa para estar más cerca de su suegra y su hija menor, Carolina. Abel fue ensamblador en EBM durante 15 años, antes de retirarse. Le encantaba bailar, hacer bromas, contar historias y pescar en el lago o en el mar. Abel disfrutaba tener a su familia junta, especialmente a sus bisnietos. Siempre quiso que la familia este unida en los tiempos difíciles y alegres.


A Abel le sobreviven su amada esposa por 62 años, F. Isabel; sus 5 hijos, Mary y su esposo Roland, Tisha y su esposo Jorge, Abel y su esposa Irina, Chabela y su compañero David, y Carolina y su esposo Paul; sus nietos, Abel Eduardo, Belca y su prometido Nick, Miguel y su prometida Evelyn, Jorge, Alessandra y su esposo Peter, Alex, Karina y su enamorado Luis, Roland Andres; sus bisnietos Jayce, Maximus y Novalise; y sus hermanos David y Antolín.


Una celebración de la vida de Abel será a las 10:00 a.m. el sábado 31 de agosto de 2019, en St. Mary’s Church, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108.
