Adilia DeFeo, age 75, passed away Friday, February 18th, after a very brief battle with kidney cancer. She was such a courageous, sweet, and generous woman who always put her family first.
Adilia was born in Sotelho, Portugal and came to the U.S. at the age of twenty-two. She came from a very large, loving, and hard-working family. She was the youngest of ten children. Adilia had an overwhelming passion for gardening. She lived on 115 acres of land and had a vegetable garden every summer for most of her life. She also enjoyed painting.
Adilia is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Anthony DeFeo Jr., her son, Zachary DeFeo, and her daughter, Rebecca Ferraro. Her son and daughter are fraternal twins. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Paul Ferraro Jr., and three grandsons, Dominic, Paul, and Anthony Ferraro. Not to mention many siblings and countless cousins.
Adilia's family wishes to thank the staff on the 6th floor at Uconn John Dempsey Hospital. They provided superior care and support for both Adilia and her family during a very difficult time.
