Alicia Ann Lanier

August 10, 1968 – September 19, 2026

Alicia Ann Lanier, lovingly known as “Lisa,” was born on August 10, 1968, and was raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and genuine love for people.

Lisa attended Kolbe Cathedral High School and the Connecticut Business Institute. She began her professional career as a bookkeeper at a law firm. She later devoted more than 20 years of service to the City of Stamford and also worked for a time with the City of Bridgeport. Her dedication and warmth touched many colleagues and members of the community throughout her career.

Lisa had a joyful appreciation for life’s special details. She loved people, clothes, thrift shopping, decorating, and watching the New York Knicks. A natural in the kitchen, she had a gift for preparing food that brought others together.

Above all, Lisa’s greatest love was serving Jehovah and sharing His Word with others. She was baptized in June 1987, marking an important milestone in her life of faith. Her faith was central to her life, and she found deep purpose and joy in encouraging those around her through her beliefs and loving example.

Lisa leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Geraldine Day of West Hartford, Connecticut; her father, Douglas Lanier of Trinidad, West Indies; her sisters, Kimberly Staley (Robert) of West Hartford, Connecticut, Kenya Carter of Norfolk, Virginia, and Laticia Staley of Orangeburg, South Carolina; her brother, Douglas Lanier; and a loving circle of nieces and nephews: Tyler, Jordan, Kayla, Deja, Dejan, Ashlee, Zion, Jayla, Ashton, and Zyla. She also shared a particularly special bond with her great-nieces, Bella Kimberly and Rhea.

Lisa also leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving relatives, dear friends, former coworkers, members of her spiritual family, and all whose lives she touched. Her loving spirit, generosity, and radiant smile will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 580 Tower Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
