Alvarie Ashman, 72, of Hartford Connecticut (CT), passed away peacefully on Sunday June 11, 2023. Alvarie spent most of his life in his birth country, Jamaica, prior to relocating to the United States in 1984. Alvarie embarked on a new journey where he worked and lived in Florida then later in East Hartford and Hartford, CT. Alvarie met and married his wife, Bertha Ashman (now deceased). Alvarie leaves to mourn his girlfriend, Sheila; daughter, (Captain) Shaneka (US Army) and son-in-law Craig; stepchildren Allen, Marion and Joseph; sisters: Earney, Totlin, Beverly, Sonia, Joan (Dawn) and brothers: Micheal and Mark along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends located in London, Canada, Jamaica and the United States.
He began his career in 1976 working for Alpart Aluminum company in Jamaica for several years prior to retiring in 2020 from Redland Brick Company, south Windsor, CT. There he received several awards and certifications from exceptional work contributions to the company. Alvarie enjoyed using his hands whether farming, fishing, or working on cars. Alvarie was a generous, kindhearted, and easy-going man who cared a lot for his family and friends. He was fond of the bible, telling stories and browsing through car magazines.
In 2022, Alvarie moved to Apple Rehab nursing home community in Rocky Hill, CT where he lived until his passing.
A private service will be held in Rocky Hill and cremated remains will be taken to Jamaica for memorial celebration.
