Amy Jaynes Pope, 56, of Wethersfield, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind: her parents, Patricia D. Pope, mother (stepfather, John M. Pitus, predeceased in ’19) of Wethersfield, and Nancy L. Pope, stepmother and William A. Pope, father, of East Hampton; sister, Karen Pope Kowalyshyn and brother-in-law, Brian S. Kowalyshyn, nieces and nephews, Daniele F. Aguilera, Katharine R. Kowalyshyn, Abagail M. Kowalyshyn, George B.S. Kowalyshyn; her stepsister, Crystal Pitus and Fiancé, Todd Ruszczyk, stepbrother, John Pitus Jr. and wife, Marcie Pitus, nieces and nephews, Avery Pitus, Addison Pitus and Maximus Pitus; and numerous extended family and friends. Amy was widowed in ‘18 when her late husband, Maurice Henton, died. Prior to her illness, Amy is best remembered for her big-hearted giving, fun-loving and always quick-witted ways. She devoted herself to her work at Aetna and embraced time spent cooking, playing games, swimming and just enjoying the company with all whom she loved.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Amy’s life with a memorial service, at a later date. Honor her memory, if desired, to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org/donate or Angel Dog Rescue Inc. at www.angeldogrescue.com. Amy’s spirit will stay in the hearts of everyone she touched.
