Ann Elizabeth (Oropello) McCarthy, 67, of Canterbury, CT, passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born on January 11, 1957 to the late Dominic and Evelyn (Bridges) Oropello of Jewett City, CT.
Ann worked 24 years for Foxwoods Casino as a senior accounts payable clerk, retiring in 2018. A beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Kevin P. McCarthy, three amazing sons, Donald M. Griffin Jr. of Griswold, CT, Nicholas J. Alletto and fiancé Jordan Ausilio of Mystic, CT, Mathew J. McCarthy and partner Abby Melendez of Jewett City, CT and grandson, Sylas P. McCarthy of Jewett City, CT, a brother, Donald J. Oropello of Voluntown, CT, a special niece, Dawn MacLean of Lisbon, CT, her lifelong and dearest friend, Ellen Deschenes of North Franklin, CT and a special friend, Diane Demuth of Brooklyn, CT, along with many loved nieces and nephews. A special thanks to all of the McCarthy family for their support and love. The family would also like to extend its special thanks to Dr. Vanessa Johnson and the dedicated Hartford HealthCare Hospice team, whose expertise and compassionate care made it possible for Ann to be in the comfort of her home until her passing.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Jewett City, CT on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
