Annemarie Brown

In Loving Memory of Annemarie Brown

May 27, 1948 – June 26, 2025

Annemarie Brown of Hebron, CT, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on June 26, 2025. Born in Geneva, NY, on May 27, 1948, to Edward and Mary Anderson, Annemarie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose quiet strength and boundless kindness enriched countless lives.

She was predeceased by her father, Edward Anderson, and her husband, Robert “Bobby” Brown. She is survived by her devoted mother, Mary Anderson of Hebron, CT; her brother, Chris Anderson of Hebron; and her sister, Mary Fitzpatrick, and husband Tom of Mattituck, NY.

Though Annemarie did not have children of her own, she embraced her role as “coolest aunt” with love and pride. Her niece, Laura Bailey followed Annemarie to Connecticut for college and built her life nearby, keeping Annemarie close to the next generation. She adored her extended family, including Laura and her husband Bruce’s children, Justin and Madeline, and Madeline’s husband, Joe Marozzi; her nephew, Brian Joosten, and his partner, Jaclyn, and their children—Cassie, Kaylie, Jayce, and Evangeline; and her nephew, Kevin Joosten, and his wife, Nora, and their children—KK, Liam, Lyric, and Krysten. Their laughter and milestones brought her boundless joy.

Annemarie moved to Connecticut in her early twenties, where she built a life steeped in friendship and love. She forged deep bonds with a cherished circle of friends—Elby, Tony, Cathy, Bruce, Leo, Judy, and Gail—who became her chosen family. Her warmth and generosity of spirit made her presence a gift to anyone lucky enough to know her.

A respected and dedicated paralegal, Annemarie spent most of her professional career at Pepe & Hazard in Hartford. Her work was more than a job—it was a community where she cultivated lasting friendships and offered unwavering support to her colleagues.

After the loss of her husband Bobby, Annemarie found new roots in the Buttonwood Community of Hebron, CT. There, she continued her tradition of service and connection, joining the HOA Board and forming yet another close-knit network of neighbors and friends.

Independent, artistic, and gracious, Annemarie was known for her calm demeanor, fair-mindedness, and gentle humor. She saw the best in others and offered kindness freely. Her humility, empathy, and unwavering presence made her a beacon of quiet strength in the lives of those around her.

At Annemarie’s request, no formal wake or service will be held. Instead, she invites those who knew her to pause for a moment of reflection—revisit a memory, share a smile, and, if possible, perform a random act of kindness in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity, or simply carry forward Annemarie’s legacy by choosing compassion every chance you get.
