West Harford – Barbara Christensen Bechtel, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the Hebrew Health Center in West Hartford.
Barbara was born in Wethersfield May 21, 1927, the daughter of Harry and Mildred Christensen. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter, her sister, Ann, and her best friend, Charlotte Bacon.
Barbara is survived by her four children: Judy and Steven Bechtel of Wethersfield, Jim and his wife Janet of Old Lyme and Jeffrey and his partner Rob of Port St. Lucy, FL. Barbara also leaves two granddaughters: Kate, her husband David and great grandson son Alden, and Laura, her husband Billy and great grandson Liam.
Primarily a homemaker, Barbara enjoyed reading, travel with her husband, antiquing and Saturday lunches out.
