Bernadette Bonnie McBride

02/26/60 - 01/11/25


Bernadette Bonnie McBride, affectionately known as "Jubilee," passed away on January 11, 2025,  age 64, in New Haven, CT. She was born on February 26, 1960, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, through the union of her father, Rev. Thomas Elijah McBride and mother, Missonary Anna Irene (King) McBride. Bernadette was the youngest of 12+ children. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, her daughter Rosiann Jagne, and siblings-two brothers- Paul and Melvin and eldest sister- Vannie.


Bernadette attended school in Myrtle Beach, SC, and Norwalk, CT, later briefly attending Housatonic Community College. She gravitated and resided in Bridgeport, CT mostly. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, love of family, and her infectious nomadic spirit. Bernadette's vibrant personality earned her the nickname "Jubilee," which reflected her love for music, spontaneous traveling adventures and enthusiasm for life while being carefree. Despite her health challenges she had a beautiful personality. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on through the lives she impacted.


She is survived by two children- Demetrius and Toniko, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, as well as eight sibilings, an abundance of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will remember her with love and fondness.


Jubilee's legacy of love, resilience, laughter and faith will forever be cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.


A private virtual ceremony was held on her birthday on Feb.26, 2025. After a year of mourning and reflection, the Celebration of Life Memorial Day of Service wiĺl take place on Saturday February 28, 2026 at Mt.Carmel Ministries Church and Pine Island Cemetary, Myrtle Beach, SC.
