Beverly June Czekierda (nee Norway), 60, passed to the ancestors on December 11, 2018 surrounded by loving family. She was born on December 24, 1957 in the town of Derby, Vermont as the youngest daughter of Winston Cedric Norway Sr and Wenonah Delphine Norway (nee Glover).
Beverly has had many titles in life, the most important of which remain wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was a charismatic force of nature with her own gravitational pull, a singularly unique and undefinable soul that sought the joy in life, dedicated herself and valued family above all and loved unconditionally. A woman who stubbornly and bravely fought every battle she encountered, utterly decimated every mountain that life put in her path and nurtured both strength and love in her children, like her mother before her.
Beverly considered her greatest gifts in life to be the ability to help people in need, the privilege and honor of watching her children grow, seeing her grandchildren born, and building a home out of the house she had with her husband and best friend Michael. Although a lover of fashion, jewelry and the relaxing art of coloring, her real and abiding passions were her family and friends. She sought to instill in her children strength, commitment to family, compassion, love and the zest of life.
Beverly is survived by her soulmate and husband Michael James Czekierda; her sons by birth and of choice Michael John and wife Krystle of Torrington; Robert James and wife Carrie of Northfield, Brandon Bresson of Winsted, Ryan Mcallister of Torrington; her daughters by birth and of choice Moriah Michelle Stearns and husband Robert of Torrington, Katherine Wenonah of Winsted, Tonya Fuller of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Haylee Marie Renaud, Dustin Robert and Josie Rose Czekierda, Trystan Michael Czekierda, Jacob and Jarred Dickinson, and Briella and Saidee Stearns; her sisters Virginia Davis of Vermont, Gail Daddario of Tolland, Carolyne Norway-Buyak of Vermont, Ruth Norway of Winsted, and Donna Norway of Massachusetts; a ridiculously large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended families, pseudo-children and family pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents Winston Sr and Wenonah; her brothers David Winston, Merrill Stewart, Calvin Earl, and Winston Cedric Jr; her brother-in-law and father figure Michael Buyak, father figure and family friend George Moulthrop (both of whom stepped in and danced with her for her Father-Daughter dance at her wedding), brother-in-law Albert "Junior" Daddario; best friend and heart sister Tina Watkins; many loved extended family members, friends, and her four family dogs that wormed their way into her heart despite her best efforts: Buddy, Ally, King and Rocky.
A Celebration of Life event will be held in memory of Beverly on January 12, 2019 from 12:00 to 6:00 at The Eagles Club, 222 Main Street, Torrington. The family asks that you bring memories, stories and pictures if you wish. They also request that everyone spend time with their loved ones, because you never know what tomorrow brings.
