Brendan D. Firetto 1977-2020

Brendan D. Firetto, (Bren, B, Uncle B, Daddy), 42, of Cromwell, beloved husband to Sarah and devoted father to Evan, passed away peacefully as he was surrounded by love on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Middlesex Hospital after a very difficult battle with pancreatic cancer.


Brendan leaves behind his parents, Dennis and Marcia (Kuklinski) Firetto of Southington; wife, Sarah (Kolej) Firetto of Cromwell; son, Evan Mark Firetto of Cromwell; sister, Maegan (Firetto) Corlette and her husband Richard and their children, Kaedyn and Kallen of Ellington, mother-in-law, Patricia Martin of Florida; brother-in-law, Michael Kolej and his wife, Abby of Hawaii; brother-in-law, Paul Kolej and his wife, Evangeline and their children, Zachariah, Matthew, and Isabella and their families of California; brother-in-law, Ryan Kolej and his children, Jackson and Giuliana of Berlin. He is predeceased by his uncle, Mark Kuklinski; and grandparents, Edward Kuklinski, Wanda Kuklinski, and Yolanda Firetto.


Brendan was born on September 12, 1977 in New Britain to Marcia and Dennis Firetto. He graduated from Southington High School in 1995 and then went on to UConn at Avery Point where he graduated in 1998 with an Associate Degree. Brendan worked and recently retired from the State of CT in the Judicial Department.


Brendan was an avid baseball and basketball player as he attended SHS and UConn AP. Some of his accomplishments were being part of the baseball team in 1994 that won CIAC State LL Championship at Southington High School. While he attended UConn at Avery Point, Brendan was All New England Player for two years as he played baseball.


Brendan was an extremely loving and devoted father to his son Evan and had a profound love for his wife, Sarah. He cherished his family, especially his mother, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends are heartbroken, Brendan will be missed immensely. Beautifully said by his wife, Sarah, “Brendan will be forever in our hearts and we will always cherish the precious time we had together”.


At Brendan’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones please send donations to the Evan Mark Firetto Scholarship Fund.
