Bruce Robert Jones

Bruce Robert Jones, left us peacefully on April 5, 2025 at his home in Plainville CT, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Norwich CT, on June 7, 1959 to the late Edward "Rebel" I Jones, and Francesca "Fran" Toscano Jones.

Bruce leaves behind his daughter Tanisha Jones, and son Richard Jones. He was delighted to be a "Grandpa Chubby" to his two grandchildren Allysha Desrosiers, and Caiden B. His long time loving girlfriend Debra Devries, sister Laurene Shewan (Tom), and Aunt Irene Toscano. His memory lives on in his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward I Jones Jr, Dana Jones, and nephew Leland Jones.

Bruce was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a kind and generous soul that made people gravitate  towards him, including animals. Whether it was the family of Raccoon's he and his daughter fed every night, all the Dobermans he had rescued, or in his later years the cats who kept him company. He loved spending time with his family. Even if it was hanging out at home, by the pool, or eating a good steak, pasta, burgers, or pizza, but don't you dare forget the dessert.. A good cheescake, ice cream, or chocolate covered cherries. Bruce was drawn to spending time at the beach. Taking his speed boat, or sail boat out in the ocean. Although he loved kayaking with Deb that he kept to the Rivers and Lakes. His love for sports was as equally enjoyable. From a young boy playing baseball he grew up loving the New York Yankees but, let's not forget his love for watching the Montreal Canadiens Hockey games, or the New York Giants. Watching Nascar Race's was great but he loved being at Bud's garage working on the Race Car, and spending Friday nights at the track working as a spotter. Bruce was very talented, fixing and building things, and that's why he loved working for Evergreen Nursery. It is there he discovered another gift. Creating beautiful Stone patios and walls. He then was drawn to designing large fish ponds. Although he loved to be outside, catching a tan, and using his hands, or riding his motorcycle he found time to fly Sims with his buddies. During the last of Bruce's years with us. He enjoyed sitting outside. Soaking up the sun, watching the birds building model planes, cars and flying his drone. (In which he almost got in trouble for!)

Bruce's sense of humor stayed with him through his final days. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his warmth, love and wittiness will remain in our memories and hearts forever.
