Carl, born in Buffalo, NY on June 21, 1929 graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland in 1954 with a BS in Physical Education and earned a Masters in education from Hofstra University. He attended Officer Candidate School in the Marine Corps in 1954 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant.
Carl taught in the North Bellmore, New York public school system and was a supervisor of recreation for six parks in Oyster Bay Township until his retirement from both positions in 1991. He spent most of his life on Long Island, and his later years in Boston, Highland Park, IL and New Canaan, CT where he passed away on March 10, 2019 at age 89 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, ice skating, skiing, and spending time with his children and five grandchildren. Carl is predeceased by Drusa Heidle, his wife of 53 years.
He is survived by his 3 children: Druann Heidle of New York, NY; Carolyn Singer (Jonathon) of Highland Park, IL; and Margaret Siderides (Elliot) of New Canaan, CT, and his 5 grandchildren.
