Carolyn Marie (Cannata) Grudzinski
October 10, 1949 - May 24, 2021
It is with deep, heartfelt sorrow that the family of Carolyn Marie Grudzinski announces her passing on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Middletown, Connecticut at the age of 71. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.
Carolyn was born on October 10, 1949 in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Enrico John Cannata and the late Jennie Civitello Cannata. She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Cannata Mackewich.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband. She leaves behind three children, as well as a son-in-law: Camille C. Grudzinski of Orange, California; Eric John Grudzinski of East Hampton, Connecticut; and Karen Ann (William E.) Denvir of Bushnell, Florida.
She is also survived by nephew, Michael Paul Mackewich, Jr. and two nieces, Angela Marie Mackewich Ruotolo (David) and Michelle Lynn Mackewich Schlegel (Richard). She is also survived by five great-nieces and a great-nephew, as well as many cousins who were like siblings.
The family wishes to thank those who assisted in Carolyn’s care in her later years, including: The Miller family of Burlington, Vermont; the staff of Greystone Retirement Home and Cobalt Healthcare; as well as Middlesex Healthcare, and Attorney Brent Stratton.
Formal services for Carolyn will be delayed due to present circumstances and scheduled at the convenience of the nearest and dearest family members. At this time, the family plans to hold a private celebration of Carolyn’s life. The family asks that anyone wishing to extend their condolences to please do so by reaching out to a charitable cause and making a donation in Carolyn’s name.
