Chadwick Andrew Skidgel, 44, of Vernon Connecticut passed away on May 16, 2024.
Chad was born on December 16, 1979 to Walter and Debra Skidgel of Vernon.
Chad lived all of his life in Vernon Connecticut, except when he traveled long-haul trucking for work. Chad was lucky enough to be able to see so much of the US while traveling coast to coast in his truck with his faithful companion Ace, his dog. Driving truck was something Chad loved and also shared with his father and his son. They were even lucky enough to travel together on some of his long hauls.
Chad‘s whole world were his two beautiful children, Corey and Haley. While he loved traveling, he always stayed close to home and was extremely close to both of his children. He was also very close to both of his grandchildren Sommer and Stella. Chad was most happiest when he was with his family. He enjoyed the casino, playing cards, shooting darts, going fishing, camping, and riding dirt bikes. Chad was a kind person with a huge heart. His caring and giving spirit will greatly be missed.
In addition to his parents, Walter and Debra Skidgel, Chad is survived by his children, Corey Stephen Skidgel and his partner Miranda Leblanc of Vernon, Haley Love Skidgel and her partner Randy Chasse of Vernon, his two beautiful granddaughters Sommer Grace and Stella Skye. His two sisters Katie Firetto and her partner William Firetto of Vernon, and Angel Costello and her partner Kyle Costello of NH. His Children’s mother and close friend Mary Smith of Tolland. His dog Ace, and lots of family and friends.
All services will be held privately. In honor of Chad‘s memory, the family asks that you pay it forward.. maybe buy a trucker a coffee. We will miss you Chad. Love you more than my luggage.
We had the pleasure of meeting Chad while visiting our friends Deb and Walter, condolences to all his families and friends
Can't believe you are gone bro..you will be truly missed by many ppl, I have tons of great memories to think about. I regret not reaching out to you in a while but you are one of the few true friends I've had in this life and though it's been a "hot one" since we chilled I was expecting to bump into you again at some point and catch up. You brought 2 amazing ppl into this world and did everything in your power for them. I know you are in a better place n I hope we do meet up again much love... Stan
Chad you were always so good to my daughter and a great father to your children. I have seen so much sadness in their eyes this past week. I know as time passes all the beautiful memories you made with the people who you loved most will see them through til we all meet again.🩷 Melody
