Cheryl A. Lowe, 69, of Coventry, CT, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1955 in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late Clifford and Doris (Trahan) Darling. Cheryl is survived by her husband Leroy Lowe of Coventry, CT, a brother Carl Trahan of Ormond Beach, FL (wife Marie Trahan), a sister Jo Ann (Darling) Easton, of Willimantic, CT, and brother William Darling from Ashford, CT (wife Fern Darling). Cheryl is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Cher’s personal life included her love of her husband Lee, her appreciation of good food, playing computer games, her kitties, and in past creative years she did a lot of crafting, especially ceramics, crochet, and macrame. She also loved being with family at home or at cookouts and she found ways to enjoy life outdoors. She enjoyed sitting on her deck and playing cards or watching the birds and enjoyed her flowering rhododendron and rose bushes. She loved her long red hair and would never cut it except for a trim now and then. She collected all sorts of small cat statues and pictures of her favorite kitties.
Cher’s best friends included those she has known since childhood and a few from work places along the way. She was a Program Assistant in the School of Education at the University of Connecticut, a position she excelled in, and retired in 2017.
Cher has left behind an abundance of memories with her friends, family, and workmates. She loved her family with a fierce passion and was a kind and generous person with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
