December 11th, 1959 – June 13th, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cheryl Asal Bisson , who passed away peacefully on Saturday morning at the age of 66 in Thompson CT in her childhood home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Cheryl was born on December 11th, 1959, in Putnam CT to the late Nancy (Bell) and Richard J. Asal Sr. of Thompson CT. She is survived by her children, Nickolas (Amanda), Timothy, Thomas (Chelsea). Her grandchildren, Hailey, Mason, Emily, Brayden and Leon. Also survived by her 9 siblings, Andre, Richard Jr., Debra, Priscilla, Carla (Fred), Sandra, Kristine, Scott and Virginia. And many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family. She cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Whether gathered around the kitchen table, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying each other's company, Cheryl's home and heart were always open.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Cheryl loved tending to her gardens and took pride in watching flowers bloom under her care. She had a special fondness for hummingbirds and delighted in seeing them visit her yard. An excellent cook, she expressed her love through the meals she prepared and the traditions she shared with family and friends.

Cheryl enjoyed quiet moments spent working on crossword puzzles and treasured scenic drives through the countryside, especially when they led past open fields where horses grazed peacefully. She appreciated the beauty of nature and found comfort in the familiar sights of the place she called home.

Known for her strength, wit, and caring nature, Cheryl left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless moments of kindness she shared throughout her life.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Cheryl's hospice nurse, Ellen Freidenfelds, whose compassionate care, kindness, and dedication brought comfort and peace during Cheryl's final months. We are also deeply grateful for her beloved granddaughter, Hailey Bisson, whose constant presence, unwavering devotion, and boundless love provided strength, comfort, and companionship throughout her journey.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Cheryl's love lives on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and dear friends. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her presence will be deeply missed.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty, love, and tranquility she so dearly treasured.

At this time, the family will be holding a private Celebration of Life at their discretion. They appreciate the love, prayers, and support of family and friends as they honor Cheryl's memory in a manner that reflects the closeness and love she shared with those dearest to her.
