Christine Donohue, 61, of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, after a brief, newly diagnosed illness. Her passing was sudden, but she was surrounded by love.

Christine dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to Home Depot, where she worked in the flooring department before leaving in 2018. She was known for her strong work ethic, her willingness to help anyone in need, and the lasting connections she made with both coworkers and customers.

Christine had a beautifully unique soul: quirky, endlessly positive, deeply spiritual, wonderfully creative. She was the definition of a free spirit. She had a natural artistic talent and a zest for life that touched everyone around her. She loved being outdoors and found joy in gardening, getting her hands dirty as she nurtured each plant with care and pride. In every little act, she embraced life fully, turning simple moments into something extraordinary.

Above all, Christine’s heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Amber-Lee, whom she adored and was endlessly proud of; her mother, Henrietta Buice; her father, Billy Buice; her siblings, Barbie Buice, Susie Simmons, and Jimmy Buice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.

Christine’s warmth, light, creativity, free spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held privately with close family over the coming months. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services.

After her passing, Amber-Lee discovered a handwritten note Christine had given her years earlier, with a simple but profound message: “Learn to love life more, it is very precious!” May we all carry her words in our hearts and live by them every day.
