Christopher John Bogdan passed away Saturday July 16 2022 at the age of 52. After several months of declining health, Chris died peacefully with his daughter, and close family and friends nearby.
Chris was born on August 4, 1969, in Westerly Rhode Island which he always kept close to his heart. He grew up in Vernon, Connecticut and spent most his life there until he moved down south for the last 8 years of his life.
Chris was a character; it was impossible to hang out with him and not laugh. His humor and laugh were admired and contagious, never a dull moment with him. Chris loved sports, especially baseball and football, where his favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and Denver Broncos. His love for sports started early during his childhood. He formed many great lifelong friendships within his childhood neighborhood by riding bikes and playing backyard games such as whiffle ball and kick the can. He also played little league baseball for many years and made some unbreakable bonds there as well. Chris graduated from Rockville High School in 1987. Chris enjoyed watching sports, doing his football picks, playing golf, hanging out with his buddies, and talking to his daughter. His Family and Friends were extremely important to him. He was a Proud Grandpa and enjoyed the time he got to spend with them.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Bogdan; Three grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Lilliana Chambers and Raelynne Clarke, his sister Michelle Bogdan Richard and his two best friends Jason Douglas and Ted Opdenbrouw. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Bogdan, and his son Jeffrey Bogdan.
The service will be private at the request of the family.
I played many many hours of wiffleball with Chris in his backyard. We played on the same Little League baseball team too. I smoked weed for the first time (and second time) with him. He was my best friend back then.
