Corinne Ann Day 1963-2019

Corinne Ann (Huebschen) Day, 55 of Enfield died peacefully holding hands with her husband on March 1, 2019 in Enfield, CT. She was born on September 26, 1963 to James and Karen (Bergemann) Huebschen in Milwaukee, WI.

Cory was raised in Wisconsin (read: Packers Fan). She graduated from South Waukesha High School in 1981 before she moved to CT. While working at the J. C. Penney warehouse in Manchester, she replied to a singles ad in the local newspaper which made one guy very, very happy. That is how she met her husband Bob. Cory and Bob were married on May, 18, 1991 and started what Cory referred to as family 2.0.

Cory was first and foremost a dedicated mother. She had a volunteer’s heart. During the early days of the internet, she served as a moderator for several AOL discussion boards. Later she volunteered on Pernicious Anemia and Celiac online support groups. Cory developed these selfless activities into lasting friendships around the world. Cory loved animals and dedicated much of her time and resources to advocate for humane treatment of all animals. She volunteered at T. J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center in Springfield, MA.

It is only fitting to mention Cory’s pets Oliver, Lily and Luigi, who gave her so much pleasure and comfort during her brave dark waltz with an aggressive cancer. Cory was our warrior princess who never let cancer beat her. It did not. She persevered and lived her life her way to the very end. Cory is survived by her husband Bob and son Alex Day of Enfield, CT, her step-daughters Carrie Richards and her husband Ernie of Somers, CT and Katie Hawley and her husband Bob of East Longmeadow, MA, her father James Huebschen of Brookfield, WI, her Mother Karen Semon of Port Washington, WI, her brother Thomas Huebschen and wife Wendy of Oak Creek, WI, her uncle Richard Huebschen of Menomonee Falls, WI and her beloved grandchildren Cam Fickett, Ian, Jenna and Cole Hawley. Cory was predeceased by her step father Kenneth Semon, and her dear lifelong friends Cheryl Graziano and

Valerie Sullivan.

The family wishes to thank Parkway Pavilion and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care that they provided to Cory and our family in her final days.

Fulfilling Cory’s wishes, no funeral is planned. Instead, friends, family and co-workers are invited to a celebration of Cory’s life that will be held at Nathan Bill’s at 110 Island Pond Road in Springfield, MA on Saturday April 13th from noon-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cory’s memory can be made online at www.tjofoundation.org or by check to: TJO Foundation 627 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104
