Dana Ray Lunn




Dana Ray Lunn, 75, of Manchester, CT, passed into eternal rest surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on May 31, 1949, he was the son of the late Harold and Sybil (McDougal) Lunn. He was a US Army Veteran, serving as a medic in the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. Following his deployment he traveled spent time in California and Maine, before finally settling in Connecticut and becoming a welder. 


Ray enjoyed racing stock cars at Oxford Plains Speedway, family trips to Disney, finishing yard work on his tractor, attending concerts, and treating his best furry friend, Jupiter, to Dunkin'. He prioritized his family, always ready for a good meal or an impromptu car ride with his great nieces, Briana and Emma.


Ray is survived by his children, Laura Lunn and Dana Turcotte of Maine; his grandchildren, Kyle Lunn, Nicholas Lunn and his wife Kaytlin, Trey Turcotte, Kaylee Lunn; his great grandchildren Trevor, Tyler, Owen, Elijah, Tanner; his siblings Gloria Witherly, Wendal Lunn, Christal Varela of Salinas CA; his nieces Christine (McDougal) Kurtz and her husband Stephen, and Kelly (McDougal) Ross and her husband Matthew of CT; his great nieces Stephanie, Marissa, Alexis, Briana and Emma. He was predeceased by his siblings Lois Berkheimer, Carol Bladh, Harold Burt Lunn Jr, Roger Lunn, Gerald Lunn; grandson Alexander Turcotte; as well as his best friend and cousin Robert McDougal. 


Ray will be remembered for his kindness, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew him.


Burial will held 11/23/24 at 2:00 pm at Crooked River Cemetery, Naples Maine
