Daniel "Danny" Dileo

Daniel Joseph Dileo, also known as Danny, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, at the age of 65, in Torrington, CT. He was born on June 19, 1957, in Torrington, CT, to his parents, Daniel Dileo and Jo Anne Hill Dileo, both of whom preceded him in death.


Danny had a long and successful career as a cook, working in various places before retiring from Regal Care Nursing Home (Adam's House) after 27 years of dedication. He was known for his culinary skills and passion for cooking. He loved cooking and took great pride in his work.


Danny was a fun-loving person who had a great sense of humor and laughed freely. He loved music, playing the organ/keyboards and the guitar, and attended many concerts. He also enjoyed cooking, traveling, playing nine-five, and spending time with his family and friends. Despite facing many health issues in his life, he remained stubbornly optimistic and pushed himself to get the most out of life until the very end.


Danny is survived by his loving wife, Denise J. Dileo, his daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya Hague-Doehr and Bryan Doehr, Alisha and Daniel Walker, Sondra and Jason Smulski, his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Amanda Dileo, as well as his grandchildren, Nicholas Kelly, Emily Dileo, Natalie Walker, Lillian Walker, Aiden Doehr, Giovanna Doehr, Samuel Walker, Brody Byrne, Mikaylyn Smulski, and Ronan Dileo, his sisters, June Dileo, Cindy Jock, and Pam Royer, and his mother-in-law, Amy Nevin, along with several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.


A celebration of Danny's life will be held on June 4, 2023, from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Thomaston Fish and Game Club, 730 Old Northfield Rd., Thomaston, CT 06787. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Danny's memory to Horns for Kids, an organization that provides musical instruments to underprivileged children.
