Darlene Hough

Darlene Hough, 82, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, under the care of Harrington Complete Care Center in Colchester, CT.

Darlene retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital, where she worked for many years as a dedicated medical transcriptionist. She was a woman of quiet strength and deep devotion to her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, traveling to new places and cherished a day of shopping and lunch with her daughters. An avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast, Darlene found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and had a mind as sharp as her wit was kind.  Anyone would tell you how she was just the sweetest, kindest woman they ever met.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jonathan Hough; her daughters, Laura Agner of Southington and Susan Scheibenpflug and husband John of Wheelock, VT; and her cherished grandsons, Tyler and Dave Scheibenpflug who adored their “Grammy Jon”.  Also her loving cousins of the Sarisky and Machowski families.

A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 11:00 AM, at the Sun Communities Community Event Room, 247 Redstone Street, Southington, CT. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes shared stories and fond remembrances to honor Darlene’s legacy of love, thoughtfulness, and quiet grace, either in person at the memorial or via email to darleneH@gmail.com.
