Darlene Marie (Mason) Sproul age 77 - loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on May 24th in Connecticut. She is survived by her sister Gloria; three daughters: Debbie Anderson (husband - Roy), Lisa Davis (husband - Scott) and Pam Williams; six grandchildren – William Michelin (wife - Naomi) and Zack Michelin (wife- Myly), Christina Anderson, John Anderson, Julianna Williams, and Matthew Williams; three great-grandchildren: Ember Anderson, Owen Michelin, and Stella Michelin and numerous nieces and nephews. Owen and Stella will be joined by additional siblings due for a late summer arrival. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Gaga” - having been christened that many years ago by her grandson William.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack (married 37 years), her older sister Joy, and her beloved service dog of 15 years – Addy.
She was born in San Francisco, California in 1943 and spent her childhood years in Colorado and Florida before marrying her husband, Jack. A lifelong nature lover, camper, photographer, writer, homemaker, nurse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved painting, drawing, music and exploring other cultural traditions, and especially crocheting – creating many projects for herself and others up until the last couple weeks of her life. She leaves many loving memories for all that knew her and will be dearly missed.
She was such a joy to know and I am better for having met her. I wish Lisa and her family peace as they work through this difficult time.
