David Charles Petersen, 72, of Mystic, CT passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023, at home after an extended battle with cancer with his beloved wife by his side. David was born in Broken Bow Nebraska on November 16, 1950 and grew up all over the country due to his father being in the Navy. David himself was a veteran who served within both the Naval and Army branches of the military. He will be dearly missed and always remembered by his friends and loved ones.
David was predeceased by his father Carl E. Petersen Jr. and mother Noreen M. (Moore) Petersen . He is survived by his wife Pauline C. Petersen, daughter Theresa Roque, son David Petersen and grandsons Jaedon R. and Logan A. Hoisington. Also brothers Thomas Petersen, Eric Petersen, Carl Petersen, William Pavo, only sister Noreen Strain and many nieces and nephews. David requested a private family celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services and his ashes will be interred at a future date.

I recently heard of David's passing. I worked with him at Lifeline in Framingham, MA in the early 2000s. He was a proud veteran of the Navy and Army. He told me of his struggles overcoming situations from the Vietnam War. But he worked through them with valor. He was an avid reader, always emersed in a book before work and during breaks. I loved speaking with him about many topics. RIP Dave, a good man !!!
