December 16, 1946 – July 21, 2026

David E. “Skip” Sansoucy, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

Skip is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 58 years, Doreen C. (Forleo) Sansoucy. High school sweethearts, Skip and Doreen shared a deep bond and were rarely apart throughout their many years together.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on December 16, 1946, Skip was the son of the late Armand and Phyllis (Ashworth) Sansoucy. He graduated from Northbridge High School in 1964 before earning an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Junior College. Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, with duty stations in Key West, Florida, and Iceland.

Skip began his career as a draftsman before using his skills to establish Dri-Air Industries, which he successfully led for many years. He later transitioned into the auto parts industry, and in retirement, he took great pride in working alongside his son at Highlight Landscaping and Design in Glastonbury.

Skip was a soft-spoken person who listened closely and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for classic cars and loved attending local car shows with his ’70 Chevelle. He was an avid reader, never missed an episode of Jeopardy!, and was known for cruising the town in his yellow truck. Above all, his greatest joy came from supporting his family. He loved helping his boys with home renovation projects and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Skip was a bit of a medical marvel, surviving his first heart attack at age 47 and receiving the gift of a heart transplant at age 53. That incredible gift granted him 26 more cherished years to watch his family grow and enjoy life alongside Doreen.

In addition to his wife, Doreen, Skip is survived by his son David B. Sansoucy and his wife, Jennifer, along with his cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Payton, all of Glastonbury, CT; his son Jarrod Sansoucy of Colchester, CT; Jay, Zackary, Lucas, and Marcus Jodoin; and his brother, Paul Sansoucy. He was predeceased by his parents, Armand and Phyllis, and his sister, Charlotte (Sansoucy) Nadeau. He also leaves behind several in-laws, nieces, and nephews within the Sansoucy and Forleo families.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. In honor of Skip’s journey and the second chance at life he was granted, please consider registering to become an organ donor.
