David John Pallak, age 77 passed away October 24,2024 with family by his side. He was born June 18, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Doris and Ferdinand Pallak. He leaves his wife, Alice Pallak, son Michael Kapij and his wife Maureen; grandchildren Megan and Michael Kapij; French bulldog Quincy, sister, Sandra Lavalle, brother in law, Walter Kapij, sisters- in- law Katie Kapij and Betty Kapij, as well several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by in-laws Roman and Eugenia Kapij, brothers- in- law Jerry and Ted Kapij and nephew Keith Lavalle. He was a graduate of Utah State University.
David began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer at Chandler Evans, where he met his wife. He resided in Newington, while his family was young. He moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina where he furthered his career with the Bic Corporation; eventually retiring from Nikka Corporation.
David returned to CT after his retirement to be near his grandchildren when they were young.
He enjoyed playing golf, working out at the gym with his retirement buddies, woodworking
projects and maintaining the greenest lawn in the neighborhood. In the community of Hawk
Creek, Spartanburg, SC he was honored with the best lawn award. He was very proud of his
Hole in One at Timberlin Golf Club in Berlin. Dave was most proud of his grandchildren, Megan and Michael. He loved watching their sporting events, hearing of their adventures and offering advice. Everyone who knew Dave felt his kindness and caring nature. He would “take the shirt off his back” to help a family member or friend in need.
Burial services will be private, at the request of the family. The family would like to thank friends and family for all of the love, calls, dinners, and support offered during these last several months during Dave’s illness. In David’s memory, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Staten Island, NY.
