David Lawrence Adametz (GoodOlDave) was born in Middletown, CT on October 8, 1964 to Walter (deceased) and Mary (Forshey) Adametz. He grew up in the Town of Killingworth and most recently moved to Cromwell where he worked in IT for Elara Caring and was very active in local politics for both Cromwell and in Killingworth.
Dave was always up for an adventure but he was also a couch potato who loved watching the latest online streaming TV shows and movies. He was an avid in person and online gamer. He also loved everything that was related to outer space – Star Wars, Star Trek, NASA, and anything that had to do with history such as a the Civil War (he was a reenactor) and ancient civilizations.
Dave passed away suddenly on June 29, 2021 from a massive heart attack. He is survived by his mother, Mary Adametz, his brother Walter (Skip) and his wife, Cindy Adametz, his sister Charlene and her husband Michael Reynolds, countless nieces and nephews, and his beloved fiancée, Irene Childs, and her family members that he had adopted as his own.
David’s final wishes were for a simple cremation and no ceremony.
A private Celebration of David’s Life will be held at a future date.
In David’s memory, donations can be made to the CCDL (Citizen’s of Connecticut of Defense League), Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, or the Cromwell Police Department Benevolent Association.
