David Robert Chartier, 60, of Broad Brook, CT unexpectedly passed away June 22, 2023. He was a selfless man who put his whole heart into making sure his family and friends knew that they were loved.
David was born and raised in East Windsor, CT, graduating high school with the class of 1981 where he met many of his lifelong friends.
He proudly served his country for a brief time in the United States Army. David excelled in his trade of roofing and worked for All Phase Roofing in Broad Brook, CT for 15 years followed by his 5-year career at Ace Hardware when he passed.
In 2017, he met and then married the love of his life, Deborah (Collins) Chartier on July 14, 2018.
Dave was an active member of the Liedertafel Singing Society (German Club), serving on the Board of Directors and on the Council as President. He was an avid golfer and loved to join his brothers from another mother on the course. He enjoyed playing cards, pool, and competing in the horseshoe league alongside his wife at the German Club. Dave was a kind, witty, and lively man who always made sure to be there for his family and friends.
David is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Doris Chartier, and his brother-in-law, Brian Plumer. He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Chartier of Broad Brook, CT and her children Joseph Coley and Allison Soucy; his older brother, Thomas Chartier and his wife Maria of San Marcos, California and her children Daniel and Gracie Morris; his younger sister, Michelle Plumer of San Marcos, California, and her children Matthew and Nick Marquez. His mother-in-law Leona Collins, sisters-in-law, Christine Farber and husband Jeff, Katherine Scriven and husband Joel, and Diane Collins. His brothers-in-law Paul Sheldon and wife Sarah, Steven Collins and partner Juana, and his especially loved and adored Aunt Joan.
David also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many dear friends.
Dave will be deeply missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Liedertafel Singing Society (German Club), 75 Depot Street, Broad Brook, CT 06016 on Saturday July 29, 2023, from 4pm-9pm.
