Dennis James Payne

Dennis James Payne, 68, of Connecticut, passed away June 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving children. Born October 31, 1957, in Meriden, CT, he was the son of the late Jake “DJ” Payne and Julia Ethelyn (Pittman) Antley.

Dennis was a pipe welder and proud member of Local 777, retiring after a long career.

In retirement, he enjoyed working on his Chevrolet C10 pickup, spending time on his South Carolina property, listening to classic rock, taking drives, and visiting with friends. He especially cherished the years spent taking his son DJ motocross racing.

He is survived by his children, Shana Klein (Justin), Lyndsey Witkowski (Tyler), and Dennis “DJ” Payne (Erin); his granddaughters, Brie, Colbie, and Carly; and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his grandson, Carter, who is due in August.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Jake “DJ” Payne and Julia Ethelyn (Pittman) Antley, and his longtime girlfriend, Linda Marciniak.

A Celebration of Life will be held in October 2026, with details to be announced.
