It is with heavy hearts and extreme sadness the family of Dorothy Petrocelli announce her passing on November 8th, 2025. Dorothy (Esposito) Petrocelli, was born 9/24/1936, in Brooklyn, NY, to Michael and Phyllis (Rooney) Esposito. She was a lifelong resident of Meriden, CT.
Graduating from St. Joseph’s Grammar School and Meriden High School. “Dottie”, worked for many years as a Sales Manager for Holiday Inn, where she accumulated many awards, including an all-expense family vacation to the Virgin Islands, through all her hard work and dedication. She later retired from Masonic Care after many years of devoted service as well.
Dottie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Playing games, making wonderful meals especially the holidays made her the happiest. The other joy in her life was being part of the Bingo, Casino and card crew; with her best friend and sister, Connie Casserino, girlfriends: Frannie Giancco, Betty Asplund and the late Rosemarie (Bubby) Vagnini Dottie was a kind and gentle soul who would help anyone anytime she could. “To know her was to love her”
Left to cherish her memory is: Son Michael (Karen)Petrocelli, their daughter Kassandra, Her daughter: Darcie Dexter and her sons Matthew English and Jacob Dexter. Her son, Jon Petrocelli and his children: Stephanie and Jonathan Petrocelli. Her sister Constance and her husband Joseph Casserino, Sr. their children Jody (Kurt) Wuennemann, their son: Scott (Lenora) Cassserino, along with grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew Joseph “Jay’ Casserino, Jr.
A celebration of Life memorial mass will be at Our Lady Queen of Angels at St. Joseph Church, 22 Goodwill Ave, Meriden, CT, Friday, November 21st at 11 a.m.
