Edward J. Bedard 1959 - 2021

Updated: Oct 11, 2021

Edward J. (Ted) Bedard, 61, of Somers, formerly of Providence, Enfield, and Orinda, CA, left us much too soon on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021. Ted had long suffered with many ailments over the last 15 years, including 4 rounds of cancer treatment, but it was the effects of a cirrhotic liver which he succumbed to in the end.

Ted drove trucks for many years before his job title changed to Stay-At-Home-Dad, being the go-to for his young daughters as his wife worked full time and traveled in her high tech sales job.

Ted was predeceased by his father, Fred, in 2000, as well as dear aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his loving wife Valarie and their two broken-hearted daughters, Raina and Veronika. He is survived by his grief-struck mother, Arlene Bedard, of Somers, whose help over his last month is gratefully acknowledged. His siblings are also feeling his loss, and will miss their brother terribly: his sisters, Nancy Bedard of East Windsor, and Lori Usher of Enfield , and his brother, Kenneth Bedard and his wife, Laurie, of Enfield. Ted is also survived by nieces and nephews: Samantha, Matthew, and Adam Usher, and Marissa, Sydney, and Shelby Bedard, all of Enfield. Many loving cousins, Aunts and Uncles will miss Ted’s lively presence at future family events.

The family will opt out of public calling hours and a service, and instead hold a private remembrance for Ted at their convenience.

Please join Ted’s brother and sisters as they host a Sibling Celebration for him on October 16th, from noon to 4 pm at Ken’s Pizza Palace Restaurant/Jimmy’s Pub, at 524 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082
