Edward J Giedraitis
November 5, 1939 – November 1, 2023
Edward was born to Helen (Sinto) and Charles Giedraitis in New Britain CT. He was the youngest of 6 children. Ed (Eddie) was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings: Raymond Charles, Vincent John, Donald John, Jane L. and Thomas Michael. He is survived by twenty-seven nieces and nephews as well as thirty+ great nieces and nephews.
Ed’s parents owned and operated the popular Flower Greenhouse on Stanley Street in New Britain. They were very involved in the local Lithuanian community and at St Andrew’s Church. He spent his childhood with his brother, Tom and sister, Jane, as well as cousins who were welcomed from Lithuania after WWII. He graduated High School and joined the military. He was stationed in Korea for a time, survived the Korean War, and found work in Connecticut when he was discharged.
Eddie and his mother shared holiday dinners with his brother, Vincent, Vin’s wife, Joyce, and their eight children for many years. He lived in East Hampton CT, more recently and then moved to Autumn Lake (previously Haven Healthcare) in Cromwell, CT. His family is grateful to Jodi and to all the staff for their care and concern.
May he rest in Peace and Light.
