Edward K. Morin

Edward Kenneth Morin passed away unexpectedly at home September 16, 2023. Born in Winsted, CT on February 18,1960 to Robert and Beatrice (Perry). He would become the rebellious middle child!

He often spent his time with his beloved Aunt Mill even moving in with her when he was 14. They would go on many adventures and there were always stories they told. He would spend lots of his summers up at Lone Oaks Campground meeting many lifelong friends. He joined the National Guard where he once again made more friends and memories.

Ed had many jobs through his life the most memorable were his time spent at Danfield Thread Company in Winsted, he also worked at Electric Motion Company for many years, his most recent job was working with his long time friend Dave.

He was a huge sports fan, loving the Washington Redskins and the Oakland A’s his whole life! He was an avid bowler and introduced his wife and then children to the sport. If you have ever gone down to the softball fields in Winsted chances are you’ve seen him, playing or cheering for everyone but always the number one fan of his son Andrew. He started a new tradition as Grampa and would go to all of his grandson Lincoln's games and do the same becoming his number one fan as well.

He also enjoyed camping and being out in nature. He would go on spontaneous trips with his friends Kim and Tina and that friendship would become one they all cherished. He really did love life and never let anything get him down. He hitchhiked to a party once and there he met a woman and asked if she thought he was weird, to which she obviously replied yes… Six months later they were married and that was the start of their 31 wonderful years.

He is survived by his two sons Andrew Morin (Danielle Negron) and Edward Phair along with his remaining daughter Karen Morin. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Lincoln Leifert, Nolan Blodgett, Alysha Lyman, Kaylin, Jacob, Joshua, Sophia, and Cali Phair, and his new little buddy Gianna Polakowski. Ed will also be missed by his longtime best friend and cousin Robert Gilbert, his Aunt Margaret Brashears, his two brothers Robert Morin and Arthur (Jenn) Morin, many other family members and everyone that knew him.

Edward endoured a lot of sadness and loss in his life but he never lost sight of the bright side. He is predeceased by his wife Trina and their two daughters Ashley and Heather. He will be laid to rest with his family at the Ashley Falls Cemetery in Ashley Falls, MA in a private service for family.

Please join the family on Saturday Oct 7th 2023 from 12pm-5pm at the Knights of Columbus in Winsted at 122 Marshall St. All who knew him are invited.
