Edward William Sousa of Plainville, CT, passed away on August 14th 2023 he was 90 years old. He was born on March 20th 1933 in Hartford CT. He was predeceased by his wife Sally Sousa, his daughter Katherine Masucci and his brother John Sousa. He is survived by his grandson Gino Masucci and his Nephew Stephen Sousa.
Edward was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War as a heavy truck driver. He served from July 1950 until July 1953 when he was honorably discharged. After the army he worked as a machinist at Fafnir Bearing Company and later went on to work for Stanley Tools in New Britain doing machine repair where he worked until he retired in 1994. He was also a part time school bus driver.
He was a member at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Bristol, CT and used to sing on the choir. He was also a member at the Post 574 VFW where he was a Commander years ago. He loved spending time with his grandson and all his friends at the VFW where he went often. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his friends from church and his former co workers from Stanley. He liked camping and loved animals and was always quick with a joke. He was always active doing something. He was a very hard worker and a great person! He will be missed greatly by his friends and family. Plans for a memorial service have not yet been made.
