Eleanor Kopischke was born to Louise Ott on August 23,1942 at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ. Eleanor worked at a soda shop and met her husband Bob (Robert Henry Stitz) when she accidentally spilled hot coffee on his lap.
Eleanor was a dedicated mom, grandma and great grandma also know as “mima” “GMA” or grandma! She touched everyone with her very infectious laughter, (cackle) that could be heard by all whenever she was present.
Beloved wife to the late Robert Henry Stitz. Devoted mother to Robert William Stitz, Cindy Stitz-Galvan, and Scott Joseph Stitz. Supportive Mother-in-Law to Amy, Frank and Vali. Adored grandmother to 8 grandchildren Samantha, Franklyn, Nicole, Sofia, Tiffani, Luke, Bianca, Rozena and 2 great-grandchildren Karma and Vince.
Eleanor was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on 11-14-23, and God was merciful as she died peacefully December 29, 2023.
A service will be held on Saturday January 20, 2024, 1:00 pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cliffside Park, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for flower planting bulbs (https://www.hollandbulbfarms.com) be sent to her daughter Cindy Stitz-Galvan to create a living garden for Eleanor at 42 Blueberry Hill Road, Groton, CT 06340.
