Emmanuel (Manny) Lessor, 53, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2024 after a long illness with NAFLD. He was predeceased by both his father Gustave J. Lessor and his mother Rita A. Hickey and is survived by his siblings Deborah Lessor of Ludlow MA., Dawn Lessor of Murphy, NC. and Gustave Lessor of Stafford Springs, CT. He also leaves a brother-in-law Matthew Hicking and nieces and nephews Brandy McHugh, Sven Lessor, Brant Hicking, Jade Hicking and Cole Hicking. He leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Emmanuel lived a quiet life and never left his childhood home. While he fought bravely to combat his illness, towards the end he needed care and was very grateful to have his brother so close and who was able to care for him. He loved his family and always made time to go to Brant and Jade’s sports and school events. He was a dedicated school bus driver for the town of Somers CT since 2003. He loved everything about his job including his coworkers, the students and their parents who would always think of him at the holidays and the end of the year with gifts, cards and kind words. He truly appreciated his students and saved many of the tokens of appreciation and cards that he was given over the past 20 years of driving. Aside from his family and his job, the thing he loved most were his animals. He leaves behind his dog Kali and cat Stoker to be cared for by his brother, Gus. There won't be any funeral services as Emmanuel was a quiet and private person. If anyone would like to make donations in his name to an organization, that would be a kind gesture and those can be made to the American Liver Foundation. Mostly I know he would like people to be aware of the dangers of NAFLD. If he could help even one person avoid what happened to him his death won't be in vain. So, please take a minute to do a quick google search and read about it and then take care of your livers.
