Florence Mary Mariasi, 87, of Bolton, CT, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family members on August 11, 2022.
Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Florence was a daughter of the late John and Sophia (Yuchno) Malitsky.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Coventry, CT and was employed at Aetna Life and Casualty before becoming a homemaker for her family. She was later employed at Joann Fabrics and Universal Staffing where she worked with her brother Stan Malitsky.
Florence was a wonderful, giving mother and an extremely devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She loved to cook traditional Polish dishes as well as garden, sew and was a lifelong devoted Catholic who enjoyed watching EWTN in her later years.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were siblings Thomas Malitsky, Julie Malitsky Ford, Carl Malitsky, Stan Malitsky, Frank Malitsky, Joseph Malitsky; brother-in-law, Michael Washo and sister-in-law, Marjorie Malitsky, a niece, Cynthia Malitsky; nephew Gary Zubris and great nephew Craig LeDuc.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Edward Mariasi, to whom she was married for 60 years; a daughter, Karen (Matt) Kaufman in San Carlos, CA, sons, Michael Mariasi in Bolton, CT and David (Lace) Mariasi in Coventry, CT; Grandchildren, Vincenzo and Victoria Mariasi, Nicholas, Justin, and Ryan Mariasi; Phillip and Zosia Kaufman; a brother, Henry (Beverly) Malitsky; sisters Mary (Rob) Zubris, Cecilia Washo, and Victoria (Tony) Gennaro; in-laws Johanna Malitsky, Mary Ann Malitsky, Josephine Malitsky, and Joseph Ford and many nieces and nephews.
Florence's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Church, in Coventry, CT on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM
Interment at the convenience of the family.
The Abbey Funeral Home, of Rocky Hill, CT is assisting the family with arrangements.
