With heavy hearts, yet grateful for a life well lived, we announce that Frank Salvatore Carbone, 77, of Colchester, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by his family. A devoted father, loving husband, trusted friend, one-of-a-kind personality, and person of unwavering faith, Frank was many things to many people. If you knew him, you likely have a story or two, an unforgettable experience, something that made you laugh, something that made you cry, something you are still repeating to this day, or a moment when he offered a helping hand right when it was needed most. His incredible sense of humor could light up a room, but it was his deep, genuine warmth that defined him – a warmth that made people feel valued and cared for.

To his children, he was a loving anchor, completely devoted, endlessly supportive, and always just one phone call away. He was their biggest champion, deeply proud of them and never shy about saying so. His love only grew as his family did. He loved his son-in-law as another son and adored his daughter-in-law beyond words, embracing them as his own and taking overwhelming joy in the lives they built together with his children. Nothing meant more to Frank than his family. Whether playing sports with his children, spending long days at the beach, or gathering around the table to enjoy a meal (especially one cooked by his wife), these were his greatest treasures.

Frank will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Carbone — his steadfast partner in life and love. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion and loyalty. Nancy never left his side, including during the final week of his life, when she slept in a chair beside his hospital bed so she could remain close to him. Their 53 years together were a testament to enduring love.

Frank served as a combat medic during two tours in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war, his search for the answer to why God would allow such atrocities moved him to study the Bible and lead him to becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Over the course of over 50 years, Frank was an active member of several congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Connecticut area, and a member of the Colchester Congregation for over 30 years. Sharing his faith in Jehovah with others was one of the defining commitments of his life.

In recent years, Frank fought a courageous battle with lymphoma caused by Agent Orange exposure during his military service. The family is very appreciative of the loving support of family and friends, especially over the past year, as well as to the medical personnel for their compassionate care, in particular his oncologist, Dr. Yu Zhang.

Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy Carbone, his son, Jesse Carbone and his wife Margherita, and his daughter, Emily Silva and her husband Claudiano. He is also survived by his beloved siblings – his brother Richard Carbone; his sisters Lucia Carbone and Paula Carbone and her husband Daniel Silvia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Pauline Carbone, and his brother Salvatore Carbone. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law Doreen DeSarro and Anita Bellows, and his brother-in-law Warren Bellows.

Frank’s life was marked by faith, service, humor, loyalty, and unwavering love. He will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
